Latest Education Data

The NC Department of Public Instruction recently released student achievement statistics for the 2010-2011 school year.

These new numbers show that student achievement in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has remained relatively stable since 2009-2010.  Eighth graders in CMS saw their scores increase slightly in both reading and mathematics, with 69.7 and 84.8 percent of eighth graders scoring at or above grade level on these tests respectively.  Third graders, however, moved in the opposite direction, with 67.0 and 80.2 percent at or above grade level on reading and math tests; these percentages were slightly lower than third grade performance during 2009-10.

About the data:  This data is derived from the Reports of Supplemental Disaggregated State, School System (LEA), and School Performance Data provided by the NC Department of Public Instruction.  This query system details the student achievement levels for North Carolina public and charter school students by district and/or school, grade, test, race, gender, socioeconomic level and disability status.
