Social Well-Being

Mecklenburg County is home to a diverse population, which includes people at the very top of the socio-economic ladder as well as a growing number further down the ladder who are struggling and rely on government assistance programs.  In looking at social well-being, we provide a snapshot of some of the county’s specific populations that are often the target populations of social service programs, specifically military veterans and the poor.  These measures are organized under three indicators: Food Assistance, Poverty, and Veteran Status.
