Arts, Recreation & Cultural Life

The Charlotte region is home to numerous arts, recreation, and cultural facilities and events.  The new cultural campus in Uptown Charlotte is teeming with the visual and performing arts.  Festivals celebrating the arts, outdoors, and the region’s many cultures can be found in one of the region's counties nearly every weekend of the year.  Reliable, consistent data on these areas, however, are difficult to come by.  The indicators included at the moment are percentage measures of employment and business establishments in the arts, entertainment, and recreation and the level of financial support residents provide for non-profit organizations in the arts.
