The tremendous economic and demographic growth Charlotte has experienced in recent decades has put increasing strain on the region's natural environment, an issue of which the region’s leaders and general population are becoming increasingly aware.  The indicators tracked here include Air Quality and Developed Acreage; additional indicators are currently under development.
